Aspiring Norwegian producer Ragnarok teams up with Swedish Dark.Descent regular Starving Insect for a mutual collaboration spawning two versions of a slow hardcore anthem – not banger that is. Ragnarok’s „Dreamcore“ version is the invention of, well, dreamy doomcore: An ambient sound ground to sink onto, whale songs and scarce vocal samples – and then, ultra-slow, distorted beats, kicking in and fading out. Starving Insect’s “Whalecore” version is more on the techno side, spacious and tidy, with a weird enough groove. Sink into it!
