Release number 14 on Dark Industry is nothing less than a full-on, premier league quality dark ambient mini album. Nine concisely short tracks that never get lost in sound dabbling, but follow a clear pattern, with vocal samples and a martial beat in the opener “Wasteland”, before plunging into thick and disturbing moods. The war-related track titles, and the industrial sound might come from the fact that the artist lives in the Rotterdam area. “The Aftermath of War” is solemn and mysterious highlights with its fading choirs, before the two versions of “Deathmachine” add a slight dose of power electronics flavour, adding effectively to “Wasteland’s” morbidity. In the end, all that’s left is “Ashes”…
