Dutch introvert Mute. has done it again – a „track“ of around 25 minutes, or rather an entire storyline played out in his very own musical language: Embark on a journey by means of lush keys and strings, captivating downbeats and electronica, carefully crafted sounds and samples, vocals in English, Chinese, Japanese and Dutch. “Cull Destroy Poem” is an emotional rollercoaster ride from tranquil to uplifting rhythmic parts – and a deep plunge into an eerie abyss.
Unashamedly passionate, unpretentiously honest, Mute. gives us a precious piece of musical poetry for the sombre days of fall.
