Aspiring DJ/producer Undefined Movement has created a full album, following just one EP – and it’s that format that seems most appropriate considering his genre-defying background.
“Necronomicon” suggests darkness, but first kicks off with the (misleadingly sympathetic) house strings of “The Mind will fade”. From there we plunge into the tense force of industrial techno, dry and raw (“You’ll be hollow”, “You’re finished”), albeit retaining a sturdy groove (“One More”) and a knack for deadly bass lines (“Acid Reign”). The title track and the self-explanatory “Doomed” then let the listener plunge into a dark abyss alright, before the triplet of “Annihilation”, “Perversion” and “Separate and Divide” reveals the hardcore background of Undefined Movement.
Surely nothing for the genre purist, but a sincere recommendation for the discerning listener who appreciates diversity, quality and an album with a distinct buildup!
