[SOP 052-1420] Panic Scenery – Eldritch Abomination
“The Alien. The Other. The Inconceivable. The Eldritch Abomination is a type of creature defined by its disregard for the natural laws of the universe, as we understand them. They are grotesque mockeries of reality beyond comprehension whose disturbing otherness cannot be encompassed in any mortal tongue.”
When Panic Scenery entered the scene in 2016 with his “Exalted Voidstate” EP, it caused quite a stir within the industrial techno circuit, and various tracks appeared in sets of numerous big name DJs. After that – a creative break of Olympiad dimension, but this output is proof enough that Kevin Barbier used his time for good: A full length album taking the listener through 12 locations of the abyss, plus grim remixes by Kush, Silent Humanity and Xaero added to the digital version – what a sublime package!
“Physically, the Eldritch Abomination is only defined by seeming somehow “off”, hinting at their incomprehensible nature. They can range from humanoid to animalistic to physically impossible to inconceivably bizarre.”
Many claim darkness, but Panic Scenery reigns supreme in his pitch-black approach of mesmerizing ghastly atmospheres meeting gritty washes of noise and hypnotic rhythmic structures. Get sucked into this world of pain, resistance is futile.
“Some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.”
Until then, Panic Scenery provides the sounds for the peak time.
